Sunrise in Grand Junction, Colorado

What a beautiful little spot this is! While my senior citizen traveling companions were getting their bodies up and slowly moving Sunday morning I decided to get out and take advantage of the quiet streets and take some pictures. ( yes Cheryl I know I am next to feel the pain of growing old but until then)
We picked the wrong weekend to visit my Aunt Florene and cousin Marilyn, I guess this area has turned into the next Napa Valley and it was filled with tourists that were there to participate in the wine country tasting festival. So the town was a bustlilng of activity. Most the time I drive and Janette is the navigator, we should have known we were in over our heads when we got lost in Price, Ut!! That set the tone for the rest of the trip. Who in the world names their streets 32 1/4, 32 1/2 and there should be a law limiting one way streets in one town, much to the horror of the faces of the fireman watching us (me) drive down one.

Any how this looks like a real artsy kind of town it had great sculptures on their main street where we stayed. The one I like the most was a tree made out of round shaped domes that would move with the breeze and would reflect little bursts of light has the morning sun would hit it. Lots of old buildings line this quaint little spot. And that big silver bison was neat. So that is my quick trip , hope to get back and visit some of the little shops I peeked into . If I get back there I will have one of those navigational devices telling me where to go.

Love your photos. I visited GJ a few years ago for work. I work with a lot of folks from this area with my job and got the opportunity to visit there, very pretty town for sure.

This really is a quaint little town-love all the sculptures. I say we all go up for the wine tasting next year!

With all those metal sculptures and statues you can tell that you are in mining counties. Looks like a lot of fun, especially for someone as artistic as you are.

Barry & I spent ONE night in Grand Junction when we went there to buy one of our ATV's several years ago. I really liked the way it looked and would love to go back some day to explore and shop some more. Maybe we can plan a road trip for that destination, as well as Buggy Barn?
