Sixty Years

May 29, 1953

“Love is not written on paper, for paper can be erased.

Nor is it etched on stone, for stone can be broken.

But it is inscribed on a heart and there it shall remain forever.”

Wanting to wish my other set of parents
Happy Anniversary.
Their love for one another has been a great example in my life.

Back In The Saddle Again

We went up above Croydon, it is  a small unincorporated community in northeastern Morgan County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. Accessible from Interstate 84, it is home to Holcim's Devil's Slide Cement Plant and several hundred residents.Lost Creek runs through this small unincorporated town, just northeast of the Devil's Slide rock formation.

Cattle and sheep ranches can be found throughout the valley and in the surrounding mountains. Croydon is also home to the annual Widowmaker snowmobile and motorcycle hill climbing events. Founded in 1862, the community was originally named Lost Creek. The name was changed to honor Croydon, England, the origin of many of the settlers.

We found some interesting fungus growing on the side of a tree and some wild flowers that were just starting to pop their heads out of the cold ground.

The city cemetery was close by so we took a little walk
around it  getting the kinks out of our knees and back.

My Home Town

This old house has been going through
 some major renovations.
I have been waiting for it to be completed.
The owners have added a beautiful barn
 off to the side.
It is also registered with the
Utah Historical Society
you can see the plaque on the front porch.
This has been one of my favorite houses
that was built in our once small community.
What an amazing job these home owners have done
 preserving this property.

Mothers Day

Thoughts Of You

© Paula Stone
Memories of another time still come
To me and fill my mind, with thoughts
Of you when you were young. I lie awake
‘Till the morning sun comes creeping
Through my window shade, as I dwell upon
Mistakes I've made. What I would give to
Go back in time and feel you’re little
Hand in mine. To cherish each fast and
Fleeting day. To hold you close and kiss
Away, each pain that life will have in
Store and try to give you so much more.
You are part and will always be, imbedded in the soul of me. While I'm
Here, I want to say, that I've loved you
Each and every day and when my time on
Earth is gone.
The privilege was mine to have been your Mom.

Shin-Kic-In Season

We have had 3 grand children playing  soccer this spring.   Hadley and Noah are having their first experience of the game. It has got to be hard for those small legs to run up and down those big  fields.

Noah's warm up routine neck stretch and boogie dance.

 face of determination
 exhaustion
and excitement with one minute left of play.

Hadley's not afraid to get in there and give it a kick
or run into the  camera.
First fall

uniform malfunction... nothing  worse then a wedgie!

And cartwheels down the field

Lots of cousins on the side lines having fun.

Paige is our seasoned player she gets stronger with her skills each year.
