The Great Room Re-Do

On this  remake we did not do anything thing
major for this room.
Dennis and Kyle spent a great deal of time
jacking the floor up and making it structurally sound.
You could not walk down the hall with
out the feeling of being off balanced.
But before  jacking up the floors they had
to remove parts of  the sheet rock that you
can see underneath the  beams by balcony.
Even with removing some,  the sheetrock  still cracked and moan.
I would be on the top floor listening to the sound as
they  tried to lift this house up it is really an eerie sound.
I kept wondering if it was gong to come crashing down.

We got rid of carpet,  tile  and light fixtures.
Freshened up wood work and new paint color.

Dennis's father pitched in an created the new wood work around the  staircase.
Much better than having the carpet wrap around.

The wood floor was a bit challenge taking its time to acclimate it seemed like forever .
One of the goals we have for this room is to improve the entry way.
We are hoping to remove the door and side windows to add a vestibule entry way .
From the outside of the house you don't  get s sense of  where the front door is.
We want to had some type of timber frame structure and  give it more of a grander feel.

We had the chimney painted a different color
 than the walls
and made it more of a focal point.
I found the  wagon wheel light fixture at a flea market
and was tickled about  how much better
it was than the big glass  light fixture  that  was here.

We added some fan lights from Lowes.

Next room is the master bath with all its rustic charm.

Mornings on Angel Street

Nothing is better than mornings here on Angel Street.

Here we have the *All You Can Eat Breakfast Bar*
As you can see it  is a popular place.

My favorite flower that adds a touch of sunshine.

Love the little specks of yellow in the center of this flower

The inside of the coop has had its own transformation
we have enclosed a barn stall with chicken wire
hopefully to  keep them safe and raccoons out.

On the outside I did a little decorating also with  The *Coop* sign made out of twigs.

The pictures below are the after picture.
Sod has been laid and it  has opened up the lawn
the before

I took all the branches from the curly willow tree that
was trimmed off and  arranged them above front door and  decorated it with  things of summer.

The next  two pictures of the garden on the south of the house.
We just need to get some of the over growth managed.

You can not help but notice the big gap of trees out front we had to have
three of them removed. I t feels a little bare now.

My grandson Connor has been helping us with many different things around the house.
He removed the old deck an got to spend one stinky day draining and cleaning the pond.

My Gallery Of Junk

continues to grow unlike my garden

Kacy's girls are getting quick at catching the baby chicks.

We had another big make over also, this is Khloe the one with the
long unruly curly crazy wild hairdos.
She decided to take charge of her own makeover and cut all her hair off.
She wanted to have hair like her cousin Wesley.
I wish I had the in between pictures.
She  cut some of her hair off right  down to the scalp which will make it very interesting when it starts to grow out.
She spent time  with her Aunt Kacy at the salon for damage control.

She is still beautiful.
