Tse'bii'nidzisgai Elementary School Monument Valley Utah

Dennis and I had the pleasure of attending the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Tse'bii'nidzisgai Elementary School. This is a school my oldest son JD has been the project manager for in Monument Valley, Utah. Once a week JD has been commuting back and forth for this project as well as a few others located in Moab, Utah. What an honor it was to see the buildings that he has been responsible for. We are both very proud of him. There are many interesting aspects of this building, the design and construction with respect to the Navajo culture is the most impressive part, the art work they have on display is spectacular, the quality of the construction is wonderful. One of the fun things the kids do in this new facility takes place in the intersection of 3 hallways in at least 3 places where there is a huge cat track etched into the floor, there is a echo or reverberation point in the very center of these intersections, a half a step in any direction and you don't hear it. You will see the students stepping into and out of the center point where you hear your own voice amplified.

This is a mixed culture school with many native traditions, it was interesting to see how well they blend the education and culture of all the children.
We also went to see JD's other projects that he has been working on in the city of Moab. They have constructed one elementary school, one high school and the most beautiful new hospital.
Moab is one of the most beautiful little spots in my home state. We were able to spend three days in the Arches National Park We had two glorious sunrises and one amazing sunset. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be to see it in the winter months. I am going back.
I have so many more pictures to edit!

Love At Home

We have double birthdays in the month of March yesterday was my mother-in-laws (I'am wee bit late) and today is my son Jared's so I need to wish them both the best ! This is the beautiful home that the Forbush family grew up and out of , Mom and Dad still live in this home in the town of Farmington. I know this is not really a birthday blog but you can not think of Mom and Dad with out knowing the love they have had for this home.

Here they are with all the grandchildren who have may memories of this home. With its wonderful garden out back, many parties , weddings and family reunions have taken place.

Here they are with the great-grandchildren at the time of their 50th Wedding Anniversary many more have been added since then. They both are truly happy when they have their grandchildren gathered around them.

This is the first house that I did my own cross-stitched graph for many times I drew this pattern up trying to get it right, not having any idea how to get the angles of the house done, it was a challenge. I made Dennis's sisters be a part of the stitching process so there were some stitches that may not be crossed the same but that does not matter we all took part of it.
Love At Home is a hymn that if you are LDS will know very well. And if you were growing up in this house you knew it even better for if there was fighting among the siblings, Mom would make them sit in a chair with the one you were fighting with and sing this *time out* song while hugging the person you were angry with.
Happy Birthday Mom! Many Blessings for you and your family and your home with many happy memories.

Now the second birthday

Take time to smell the roses or eat which ever you prefer.

Don't forget to dance!

and remember you have family who love you near and far.

Happy Accident!?

Can I say that with out getting into trouble? Feb 1st is my youngest sons birthday. Yes I admit that Kyle was well sort of an accident. Not that I did not want him it was just the timing of it all. I even tried to pretend I was not pregnant but when I started to drink olive juice right out of the can I had to accept it. What can I say about Kyle, life with him has been a roller coaster ride. There were times I wanted to jump off, times I do not remember being on, the times I wish I could forget, and the times I have loved every minute with him.

You can see that even at a young age he had style!

He loves to be surrounded by the ladies

But most of all I love the person he is today, Happy Birthday Kyle!

I wished upon a star one night
and much to my surprise
on one cold
and foggy morn
you filled
my heart
with life.

From birth to age eighteen, a girl needs good parents. From eighteen to thirty-five, she needs good looks. From thirty-five to fifty-five, she needs a good personality. From fifty-five on, she needs good cash. - Sophie Tucker

A well adjusted woman is one who not only knows what she wants for her birthday, but even knows what she's going to exchange it for.

Hope you have a great day of celebration what ever that might be.

**Two Little Love Birds**

A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year. ~Paul Sweeney

Infatuation is when you think he's as sexy as Robert Redford, as smart as Henry Kissinger, as noble as Ralph Nader, as funny as Woody Allen, and as athletic as Jimmy Connors. Love is when you realize that he's as sexy as Woody Allen, as smart as Jimmy Connors, as funny as Ralph Nader, as athletic as Henry Kissinger and nothing like Robert Redford - but you'll take him anyway. ~Judith Viorst, Redbook, 1975

*1976*

Still trying to get caught up on birthdays, this is Jared my second son he was born March 3, 1976. At the age of two I knew he was going to be hard to keep up with. He was born with no fear that included strangers, mad dogs, or anything else that moved fast. He could tolerate almost anything except socks that did not fit just right or tags on his shirts, trying to get him out the door sometimes was crazy if his socks did not fit just right he would keep taking them off and on till they did or go with out. I had a real fear of him being picked up by a stranger because he was so friendly he would go up to anybody and talk to them . At times he has a sixth sense about him if something is lost he can find it . He can pick out fossils in a pile of rocks he can find arrowheads in the dirt or Easter candy that I thought I had hidden well.
One deer hunting season Dennis's Uncle had lost a knife that his grandfather had made out of an old spring tooth plow it was a real family treasure, he had loaned it out to a friend and they had lost it up in the mountains. The next day Jared, Dennis and JD were up in the same mountains when Jared came across this knife he was so excited over the treasure he had found and what 8 year old boy would not be, not knowing that it belonged to his great uncle. When the three of them returned to camp Jared was showing off what he had found, Vernon was in shock that it had been found after he himself had gone back to find it. Jared knew that he would have to give it back after Vernon had told him how much meaning this knife had to him. Vernon's wife Ann was with them that day and being the kind hearted woman that she is she asked Vernon if he would will it to Jared, that is all it took for Jared he knew one day that knife would be his . From that point on it was called the Will -It knife. The next day back up on the mountain Jared asked if he could see the knife one more time, he figured out it was going to be along time before Vernon left this earthy life and the knife behind, but Vernon got such a kick out of Jared that he let him have it that very day.
One of the other things Jared has a knack for is letting secrets out of the bag never intentionally just not thinking far enough ahead. One Christmas Dennis had taken the kids out to buy a gift for me. I am sure all the way home Dennis told the kids to keep it a secret. At the dinner table that very night Jared announced to everyone that " You would have be so proud of Dad today that not once when he as standing in the long line of crowded shoppers did he get out of patience while buying you a new TV!" You should have seen the look that he got from his Dad and all the other kids. It just cracked me up even then Jared did not realize what he had done.
He is a comedian, he will be the one making me giggle on my death bed when I am on my way out. Love you Jared.

26 years of kyle

Kyle was one of those kids that you thought would never live to be 16. He was constantly on the go which meant lots of trips to the ER, he was very athletic for his age and size he could do one arm push ups ,climb walls, trees and scaffolding in a blink of an eye.
We had a big old rope swing off the hill in our back yard by the time you swung out I would guess you were between 12 to 15 feet high. One day I was watching him when the rope broke it was like slow motion seeing his little body fall from the sky he hit hard , knocked the breath out of him big time scared us all to death, got him to the ER to have him checked over, he had bruised his kidney and had blood in his urine other than that was fine, he has a high pain threshold, the ER nurse had asked me why he was not crying, just shook my head that's the way he is.

At a very very young age Michale Jordan had become Kyle's idol he lived and breathed basketball he would tell me he as going to grow up and be like Michale you should have seen the look he gave me when I told him that he was not going to be able to be black he really thought he could change his skin color! He has volunteered coaching many times for his cousins and nephew's basket ball teams.

One year we moved to California and were living in a split entry home when Kyle decided he was going to make a run for the top of the banisters and slide down but instead he over shot throwing him self up and over crashing down into the basement by the time Dennis and I got to him he was trying to lift himself up but he had broken one arm in two and broken the other arm as well, the first hospital we went to could not fix him so we had to take him into San Fransisco to have his bones set, he really never cried that time either. I could go on and on about him, the good the bad and the ugly , but to see how he has changed his life has been amazing, you are my hero Kyle.
Happy Birthday!!

Hard to believe I gave birth to the beautiful person yes me and a little help from her father TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS AGO! I think I can speak for the both of us how much she changed our lives and have enriched them. Not only does she touch our lives she touches many family and friends by making them all look and feel younger with her magical wand and potions(Scissors&dye). She has been what I never could be beautiful, charming and smart! I loved the way she made sure my Dad had the best haircut around and always gave him a kiss and hug as she sent him out the door. And more than that I love how she loves Hadley for now she knows what a mothers love is. **BIRTHDAY*BIRTHDAY*BIRTHDAY**

It's this sweet baby girl's birthday all though she is not a baby anymore!
This is my daughter -in-law Jennifer.
She is smart ,witty, and a great addition to our family.

She was a beautiful bride considering she had to have an emergency appendectomy a few days before her wedding, but she made it thru!

But of all my favorite pictures of Jen is this one, on the day of Noah's birthday, she had waited a long time to become a mother and those sweet little tears on her cheeks says it all!
Happy Birthday Jen, I love you.

Last year we had a craft day at Kacy's place , sisters and friends gathered to make the recycled Halloween books. Kacy's husband Brent came across these old record player albums some were in bad shape but with a little bit of paint we each did our own thing and what was even better the mess was at Kacy's!
