här′vist ā ˈmem-rē

TWO YEARS OF HARVEST
HAVE PASSED US BY
I STILL REMEMBER
THE GLEAM IN YOUR EYES
AS ALL OF THE CHILDREN
GATHERED ROUND
WITH HOPES OF A
GREAT PUMPKIN
WOULD SOON BE FOUND

HOW YOU WOULD GRIN
FROM EAR TO EAR
AS EACH CHILD
YOU WOULD TAKE
TO PICK THE ONE
THEY THOUGHT WAS GREAT

MEMORIES OF YOU
ARE PLANTED IN THIS FIELD
AND WITH EVERY
PUMPKIN PICKED
THE CHILDREN HARVEST
A MEMORY OF THE MAN
WE MISS

That 'grin from ear to ear' was a mighty BIG grin! I think it's so wonderful that you keep up the tradition for the grandkids and greats to remember their Grampa Clyde and take part in finding the Great Pumpkin.

Very nice post Sis! I imagine you can guess what I am doing right now, especially after reading your post and what Sioux just said in her comment.

I LOVE that picture. What great, loving great-grandparents and what lucky children. Have a Happy HALLOWEN!

Those memories will be treasured by all that were able to take part in those special days. It is one of my regrets for not living closer to share in such memorable times!

Hello its Debbie and of course I remember you ! It was soo good to see your comment on my blog. I love this post about your harvest memories. We all have memories that we treasure, its nice to share these memories with others. Scott and I have been on some of the benefit runs, they are all great causes, maybe I will run into your kids, let me know if they are going on another one, their names and what they look like. And don't tell me the ones in black leather ha ha !
