Healing Field 2011 - Hope for America - Sandy, Utah

Today I decided that I needed to go visit the 9/11 Healing Field.
Brent was feeling up to the trip so he Kacy, Hadley and Wesley all came along.
How do you explain to a four year old that all these flags represent a person.
Each flag has a person name attached and something special written about them by a loved one.
They were somebody's fathers , mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, uncles and friends.
As I watched my little granddaughters weave in an out of the flags I could not help but think of the freedoms that they have.
I hope and pray that all my grandchildren will never know the fear that we all felt that day ten years ago.

Flags from other countries were there also they were labeled with the numbers of lives that they lost. So you can see it was just not the Americans that lost so much that day but the world .
Peace be with all those who perished that day and to the families that still struggle with their loss.

What a beautiful memorable place that healing field is! We must learn our kids the history and what a great way to do it like this. There was one Dutch woman killed at 9/11. Ingeborg Larabie, she worked in the WTC. I recently watched an interview with her parents, family and friends. Can you imagine the impact it had on the lives of all those who lost someone that day?

Only in Utah...the skies so blue, the clouds so white, the mountains so majestic. There could not be a more perfect place to fly the banners of the world than on the tops of the mountains. Thank you for sharing these magnificent photos.
