“Photography can only represent the present. Once photographed, the subject becomes part of the past.” -Berenice Abbott

“But tomorrow, dawn will come the way I picture her,
barefoot and disheveled, standing outside my window
in one of the fragile cotton dresses of the poor.
She will look in at me with her thin arms extended,
offering a handful of birdsong and a small cup of light.”
William Collins

Could not have found a better quote for this picture, I just happened to walk past my kitchen window and there it was looking into my world luckily my camera was on the table so I slowly picked it up so has not to startle this bird away. Another first I think this is the biggest bird to land on my little post. When you shoot through dirty windows does that count as a filter or a texture.....

the little Wood duck was back this time digging up acorns out of the snow.

You have so many birds we never see here in Holland! They are beautiful! What a catch that bird through your window!

I love your latest bird images. Such sweet textures and the top one looks like an Orton effect! Yes, I am totally addicted to Shadowhouse Creations' backgrounds.
