Wild Horses of Utah

Dennis and I went back out to the Cedar Mountain range to try to see the wild horses again this time we were a little bit luckier. After pulling of the main road we could see dust being kicked up at a distance at the time we figured it was another vehicle but has we drove on we got at a different angle we could tell it was a herd of horses running! So we knew at least we were in the right place this time. About 15 miles off the dirt road we could see a herd of cattle just barely visible with our eyes which was disappointing until we seen a tail swish and we knew that was a horse’s tail.We got our horses unloaded and saddled up and tried to come in on the back side of them. The wind was in our favor and it worked. Moving cautiously so as not to attract attention I was able to get some quick pictures of them in the distance, but once I got off my horse they seen us and so did the herd of cattle. I wish the horses found us as interesting as the cattle and before long they all came marching over to see what we were. Maybe they figured they deserved to have their pictures taken also.
Hoping to get back out there before the summer heat, with my bigger lens that I just got  back from Inkley’s the other day from getting fixed up (yippee).
Can not wait  to try it out.

Sister, sister! These are WONDERFUL! Beautiful horses and I love how you captured their movement and their colors. And who would have thought that a herd of cattle out on the range could be so dang cute! I love all the pictures,......I can't wait to see more of the horses (and cattle). Great job!

I love living vicariously through your photos! Especially because you dare to do things I never do....like riding horses on tiny trails and such! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous view of nature and the world!
