Recycled

Bored again not much to write about so I thought I would show you the table that has been recycled a few times and am thinking it is time to change it again. The base of this table came from a table that we bought along time ago the top of the table came form my husband parents house that was the typical formica covered kitchen table that came with the extra leaves to it so we ripped off the formica and recovered it in some oak flooring that we rescued out of a building that was being demolished. The first time I did this I painted the base white and just sealed the oak with a clear finish then after we remodeled our old tv room into a dinning room I decided it need a face lift the first paint technique I tried was a copper patina effect did not like it so I started over by thinking *What if* I could make this look like a piece of material so I took left over paint from the dining room and did the first layer then I started to a tape out different ideas and added other colors to it, for the life of me can not remember really how I did it and will never try it again it was just one of those one and only things.

I'm always amazed at the things you come up with - but then again, NOT! It must be wonderful that you can look around your home and blog about the many, many interesting things that you have made, quilted, built, painted, etc. So much talent...I am so envious!

As always, I love your cute and wonderful talents! I am still working on the doors, thanks again by the way. The other two are at JD's still waiting for pick up. I will send pictures once they are done. How did your headboard re-do turn out??

I thought it was a tablecloth on the table. It looks just like fabric. Amazing!!! I find things and think it would be so cute to do something with, but I don't have the forsight or talent..... You have been blessed with a great ability!

Still looks good to me after all these years! If you DO change it, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I thought it was an oilcloth on the table. Increible that you can do that so effortlessly. Also admire your diningroom. Gray and white is such a crisp, northern Maine seacoast look. Good one!

I still remember how long that table took you to finish !!! quite the project but worth the final product.
